I have made modifications to my bike, will it still be inspected?

We inspect your cargo bike based on the data known to us. We inspect the safety regulations that belong to the original shape and drive as we supplied the cargo bike. 

Before you continue

• We check for specific components for each model.
• We approve the cargo bike if it meets the safety regulations on these specific points.
• In case the outcome is uncertain, the inspector will reject the bicycle. An expert from Babboe will further assess the safety. Read What if my cargo bike does not pass the inspection?

Electric drive modifications

We are not responsible for additional force on the frame due to the modified drivetrain or the functioning of added parts. Has your bike been converted to an electric cargo bike? Then we inspect your bike like a regular bike.

Damage due to modifications

The modifications to your cargo bike may cause damage to certain parts that we check. For example, if holes have been drilled in the frame. In that case, we are not responsible for repairing that damage. After the repair, we cannot guarantee that the bike meets the safety regulations on any other parts.

Good to know

• After the inspection, you will receive an email with the inspection report. In that report you can see which points have been checked.
