What if my cargo bike does not pass the inspection?

If your cargo bike is rejected during the inspection, the inspection report of the bike will be sent to a Babboe expert. The expert assesses what needs to be done to ensure that the bicycle meets the safety regulations. There are 3 possible outcomes:

• The cargo bike still complies with the safety regulations. The Babboe expert still approves the bike.
• The cargo bike needs a repair to comply with safety regulations.
• The cargo bike is not safe and we pick it up.

The cargo bike still meets the safety regulations

When in doubt, the inspector disapproves of the cargo bike. Babboe's expert then assesses whether there is a safety risk. It can also be normal wear and tear without a safety risk. In that case, the Babboe expert judges that the cargo bike does meet the safety regulations and approves the bike. In the inspector's report you can see the explanation per inspection topic.

The cargo bike is not safe without repair

The Babboe expert looks at the inspector's report and sees that you can use the bike after a repair. The expert will tell you what repair is needed. The cargo bike is not safe and we pick it up

We cannot guarantee that your bike complies with the safety regulations even with a repair. That's why we'll come and pick up your bike. You will receive an e-mail with a time slot in which our logistics partner will pick up your bike.

After we have picked up your bike, you will receive a certificate. With that certificate you get a discount on a replacement (cargo) bike from the webshop shop.checkyourcargobike.co.uk.
