How can I have my cargo bike inspected?

You will receive an e-mail when your cargo bike is up for an inspection. Contact a dealer near you to have your Babboe cargo bike inspected.

Before you continue

• We advise you not to use your cargo bike before it has been inspected. Only without a load and after you have checked your bike you may cycle to your dealer for the inspection. Read: How do I cycle to my dealer for an Inspection?
• We inspect your cargo bike based on the data known to us. Read I have made adjustments to my cargo bike, will it still be inspected?
• We check specific elements that determine whether your complies with the regulations and is safe to use before an upgrade is done. At a later date, we will make adjustments to improve the safety and lifespan of your cargo bike.

• For a number of Babboe models, we do not yet have the right parts to make the necessary improvements. As soon as the parts are available, we will start inspecting those models.
• Haven't received an email yet? Then your model cargo bike is not a model we are currently inspecting.

Inspecting Babboe-E cargo bikes

For the inspection of your E-model cargo bike, we want to know which motor and which control system (controller box) the cargo bike has. You will receive an e-mail from us with a link. Do you have a Mountain model? Then an extra check is not necessary and you will not receive an e-mail. Fill in the form (E-Kit checker) and see immediately whether we need to renew or replace the control system during the inspection. There are 3 possibilities:

• The electrical system of your cargo bike is in order
• We need to renew the electrical system of your cargo bike
• We need to replace the electrical system of your cargo bike

Is your controller box being replaced? Then you will receive the e-mail as soon as the parts for your bike are available and we can inspect your cargo bike.

The Inspection

The dealer will inspect specific components of your cargo bike. The inspection takes about 45 minutes. Depending on the adjustment to the control system, an additional 15 to 30 minutes can be added for an electric cargo bike.

When your cargo bike is approved, you may use it again. In case the outcome is uncertain, the inspector will reject the bicycle. An expert from Babboe will further assess the safety.

In order to be able to do the inspection properly, the cargo bike must be free of accessories.

You will immediately receive an inspection report with an explanation of each component.

The inspection report

The inspection report has 2 possible outcomes:

• The bicycle meets the safety requirements. Your cargo bike may be used before the upgrade is done.
• The bicycle is rejected. You will receive a message from us with the continuation of the inspection report. Read What if my cargo bike does not pass the inspection?
